Project 4 - Final Photo Edits

This project was about learning basic photoshop tools and using them to edit pictures.

I took some other motion photos but none of them turned out well, so I used this which was the one that turned out the most interesting.

Project 3 - Final Photos

This is a photo of the sky with the trees surrounding it. I didn't put a complete circle around it, but I did curve in a the black edges a bit and it looks like part of the photo.  I didn't put edges around them because I like how they look as squares, and the circles took too much away from the photo.

This photo is of a sidewalk, but it looks like it drops of an edge when it is put into kaleidoscope form.

These are some very white trees against a blue sky, with the sky's blueness intensified.
This shows a building but when it was put into a kaleidoscope, it began to look a bit like an eye, or two eyes.

This diptych shows the difference between fall and winter within just a few miles of one another.
This diptych is of some water hyacinth,  and has an overall view, then zoomed in on them. This shows a bit of depth of field
This tree has the "veins" of its bark altered in color which makes it look more lava like.

This triptych shows carvings in the snow of a face that goes from smiley to sad, and the overall brightness of the photo is dropped.

This triptych shows a horse with the sky saturated, and the colors of the horse turned more rich by upping the yellows and orange saturation a bit.
My phone doesn't do a very accurate job of capturing motion, but this shows water moving in motion.

I like this photo because it shows a bit of depth of field, and after boosted some of the colors and reducing some of the other colors, the shell really highlights the greens and the reds.

This shows some contrast in texture and contrast in color between the foals ears and the backdrop of the sky, and than the grass.

Project 2 - Grids and Color

This is a cool color grid of branches up against the sky which the sky colors changed.

This is another cool color grid with a turquoise sports bench, pavement, and then grass.

This is a slightly monochrome photo grid of mushrooms on a stump

This is a warm color grid of a sunrise with the colors boosted.

This is a color complements grid with a very blue sky and red leaves on a tree.

This is another color complement photo with a field where the green saturation has been boosted, and the hue of the sky was changed to violet.

This is my mood photo because it reminds me of warm temperatures in the summer very cheery mood.

Project 2 - Prework

This color wheel shows primary (P), secondary (S), and tertiary (T) colors.

Eric Ryan Anderson

This picture gives off the feeling that there is nothing nearby and gives off a lonely and deserted vibe. When the author edited the photo, I think he probably reduced the color difference so that there was contrast and that all the colors were blue, orange, or black. This picture gives off a feeling of isolation and abandonment. It also gives off the feeling of companionship because the horse and the man almost look connected, like they are one.

Jay Maisel

This picture shows a lot of contrast from the field to the sky and the field is portrayed as a brighter place while the sky is portrayed as dark and brooding. When the other was editing this photo, I think they probably increased the brightness of the yellow and may have made the clouds darker so that they were more prominent.

Project 1 - Framing and Composition

The goal of this project was to work on framing and discovering different types of compositions. There are 8 types of compositions that I took pictures of

Filling the frame - This is a tree trunk filling the frame with some of the more subtle colors saturated.

This is a frame within a frame of the city through a frame shaped part of the fence. After that, I boosted the reds and the blues and got the other colors to fade to darker colors.

The picture of rule of thirds is a sports bench on pavement next to grass, and was hard to take so that it was rule of thirds. Then, there was a fair amount of clutter that I cleared up.

This picture is from bugs eye view of a foal. It really captured the background and the horses expression and bugs are often flying around a horses head so it is a good example of a bugs eye view.

This is an example of leading lines because the lines lead you to a certain point. This picture is interesting because the fence reflects onto the water and I changed the colors so the sky was more of a violet color.

This is another picture of a different fence without water and shows diagonal lines and has an interesting and different background.

This is an example of a close up. This shows all of the details of a horses muzzle including the hairs and the slight beard. I didn't edit this picture much, all I really did was boost some of the colors so it could maintain the natural feeling without feeling super edited.

This is an example of birds eye view. It is taken from the part of a tree where a bird often stands. The tree is out of focus while the background is focused with extremely saturated colors.

My Summer

This summer I went to various national parks in California, such as Yosemite, Lassen, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon.

I went hiking and spent a lot of time taking pictures of the views.

I spent most of my summer hiking, and doing lots of sightseeing. Mostly we were climbing mountains, and there weren't many streams because of the drought in California. I took all of my pictures with my iphone.
