"Editor's Comments: Imaginative Photography" Response

There are three main types of photography which are documentary, personal narrative, and imaginative. There are four separate types of imaginative photography. They are hyper real, symbolic, new physical universe, and new psychological universe.

The documentary form shows the world as it is, with the photographer taking a step back from the subject. A personal narrative is the photographer's own story, however, it often needs to have a purpose and a way that the viewer can connect with it. Something needs to be universal about it. Imaginative photography creates a new world from imagination, and not just from Photoshop manipulation.

My work has fallen into of the categories at some point in my life since I started taking photography. Before that, I did not know much about photography but I enjoyed using different apps to experiment. That being said, I think that I have used all of the types of photography pretty thoroughly, but my favorite type has been narrowed down after time and experiences. My favorite shooting technique is portraits and close ups. I love planning shoots and shooting people which I can manipulate, but there is also a feeling of mystery when planning because it is a human being, not a set object.
My work seems to fall into all of the categories, I do not have a very distinct style and I like switching up what I am doing. That being said, I hope to maybe develop a bit more of a distinct style, but I like trying new things.
